A unique Safari to explore South Luangwa National Park in most complete and adventurous way,visiting the 3 main sectors of the park: Mfuwe, Nsefu and Malama.
Accommodation is camping in Mfuwe and Nsefu and lodging in Malama and the main cities.
You will be followed by a local professional guide and a local chef to maximize your experience.

Day 1: Lusaka

Upon arrival at Lusaka international airport, you will be assisted in final preparations (local SIM card, forex, etc.) before your Safari starts. Transfer to a good level lodge and check-in at Sandy’s Creations. Dinner in Lusaka not included.

Day 2: Lusaka – Mfuwe – South Luangwa National Park

Mfuwe is the closest village from where to access South Luangwa National Park. Even though it is very close to such an internationally acclaimed attraction, it still maintains the spirit and looks of a traditional Zambian village.

To reach Mfuwe we will have a very long (full day – approx. 10+ hours / 700km) transfer on tarmac road with a lunch break along the way. Once arrived in Mfuwe, we will check in at Marula Lodge, where we will spend the night Camping in a fully equipped camping area with toilets and hot showers, and if the time allows we will visit the Tribal Textile laboratory. Full board, cooked by the accompanying cook.

Days 3-4: South Luangwa National Park – Mfuwe Sector

South Luangwa National Park is the most famous of National Parks is Zambia due to the abundance of wildlife and the great opportunities to spot large predators. In addition to a large population of felines (mostly leopards and lions), it is home of a large number of elephants, hippos, buffaloes and numerous endemic species such as Thorncrofft giraffe, Cookson’s wildebeests, Crashway’s zebras. The Luangwa river has the highest concentration of hippos per km2 in the whole Africa and offers great reproduction and hunting ground for many animals, such as fish eagles, jackals hyenas, crocodiles and countless birds. Sunsets on the Luangwa river are unforgettable experiences and the visit to this National Park is consider one of the highlights for any true Africa lover.

During your stay, you will have 2 game drives per day and all meals at the camp. Nights will be camping at Marula Lodge with a full-board arrangement, cooked by the accompanying cook.

Day 5: South Luangwa National Park – Nsefu Sector

Wake up and breakfast. At 08.00 we will leave for a short transfer inside the Game Management Area to reach the  Nsefu Sector of the National Park. Set up the camp at Zikomo Lodge where we will stay for 2 nights. Afternoon Game Drive and return at sunset. Dinner prepared by our accompanying chef around the campfire and night camping.

Day 6: South Luangwa National Park – Nsefu Sector

Day entirely dedicated to Game viewing activities in the Nsefu Sector of the park, with 2 Game drives: 06.00 – 10.00 and 15.00 – 18.30. All meals are prepared by our accompanying chef and nights are camping around the campfire. B/L/D

Day 7: South Luangwa National Park – Malama Sector

Morning activity in the National Park. At the end of the activity, we will proceed back to Mfuwe and then through the Game Management Area to reach the Malama Sector in the southernmost part of the Park. This area is the wildest and less touristic of the whole park. Check-in at Malama Umoyo cottages where you will spend the last night in chalets with 2 bedrooms with shared bathroom. Dinner prepared by our accompanying chef and night lodging.

Day 8: South Luangwa National Park – Malama Sector

Day entirely dedicated to relaxing at Malama Umoyo Cottages to enjoy the surrounding areas and to let the feeling of this magical place sink deep under your skin. All meals are prepared by our accompanying chef and eaten at the lodge.

Day 9: Petauke

Petauke is a small town approximately 350 km north of Lusaka without any particular attraction, but located half-way on the route to South Luangwa National Park. To reach it, we must exit the Game Management Area heading back to Mfuwe and then proceeding south for another 350km (approx. 5-6 hours).  En-route visit to Tribal Textiles. We will reach Petauke, in the afternoon and check in at Chimwemwe Executive Lodge. Dinner is at the restaurant of the Lodge.

Day 10: Petauke – Lusaka

Breakfast at the lodge and departure for the last 350km of tarmac road that separate Petauke from Lusaka. Pic-nic along the way, on the shores of the Luangwa river, at the border between Zambia and Mozambique. Once in Lusaka, check-in in a good level hotel. Dinner at the lodge or in one of the many restaurants of Lusaka for a farewell to Zambia.

Day 11: end of  Tour

Breakfast at the lodge. Based on return flight, you will be taken to the airport. End of arrangements
